Let us first and foremost say CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU for your willingness to serve the Lord. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we know how important your service will be. Your selflessness, hard work and determination is one that we believe will not only bless your lives, the lives of your children and their children, but also better the world as a whole. We echo Elder Russell M. Nelson’s words when he stated, “I express gratitude for our senior missionaries. They are young in spirit, wise, and willing to work.”

We built Called to Serve (CTS) Home Watch on the very need Senior Missionary couples have when they leave their home. During Oscar and Nora Ratto’s (my parents) LDS mission to Toronto Canada, they experienced a lot of joy, happiness and spiritual prosperity. They came home with a wealth of knowledge from the 18 months they served. Amongst the many lessons they learned, three stood out most of all:

  1. LDS Senior Missionary Couples are needed in all parts of the world, in all capacities and for any period of time.
  2. As stated in the September 2012 Ensign article titled, “Senior Missionaries: Responding to the Prophet’s Call”, Senior Missionaries were always asking, “What are [we] going to do with [our] home and belongings while we are gone?”
  3. No Home Watching Service existed in the State of Utah that would make it easy for LDS Senior Missionary couples to serve a mission.
